Dr. Yelitza Ararat

PROSTHODONTIST

Dr. Yelitza R. Ararat D.M.D, FRCD (C), was born and raised in Maracay, Venezuela. She obtained her degree as Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University Central of Venezuela, Caracas in 1998, then pursued postgraduate education in Prosthodontics in 1999-2002 at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After completion of her specialty she worked as a faculty member of the prosthodontic department for three years while pursuing her second dental university credential, Dental Medicine Degree (D.M.D.), in 2005. During the same time frame Dr. Ararat taught postgraduate university courses for prosthodontic residents and dental students at NSU including implant dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, aesthetics and dental laboratory work.

She moved to Ottawa in 2005 with her family and completed a fellowship in prosthodontics with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. She has been practicing in Ottawa since 2006. She worked as an associate prosthodontist at Prosthodontics on Chamberlain before opening her own practice, Clyde Prosthodontics, in 2010.

With over 18 years in private practice, Dr. Ararat shared her experience on study clubs where local specialists meet and compare case studies. In 2012 she was appointed to the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus - Dental Clinic Division where she is trusted to work with patients who require specialized maxillo-facial prosthesis. She has server at the Hospital for over12 years now. She takes great pride in volunteering her time and expertise to make a difference in the lives of an extended group of patients. Her early volunteer experience in providing dental care to underprivileged communities in the Amazon has significantly impacted her approach to the practice of dentistry with exceptional compassion and devotion to the care and well-being of her patients.

Dr. Ararat is fluent in Spanish and English. Dr. Ararat loves her husband Scott, their four children Everett, Erika, Bruce, Peter and their dog Austin.
